Certified Coder (Health Information Medical Records)

Qualifications: Applies appropriate ICD-CM AND CPT Diagnostic and procedural codes for date retrieval, analysis and claims processing for a variety of services including ancillary, outpatient, physician offices, emergency room and ambulatory care.

Education: High School Diploma/GED Required. Completion of classes in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding conventions, and disease processes required.

Experience: Minimum of three years, five years preferred, inpatient and outpatient ICD-9 coding and CPT coding and abstracting of multiple case types within last three to five years required.

Licenses/Certifications: CCS, (American Academy of Professional Coders) certification required.

This is a full-time position, day shift. Coquille Valley Hospital offers a comprehensive benefit and compensation package.

Registered Nurse (Home Health)

Department: Home Health
Shift: Days/On-Call
Status: Full-Time, 40 HPW

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:  Recommend at least one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Licenses/Certifications: Current license by the State of Oregon as a professional Registered Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities:
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Home Health.  The Registered Nurse serves as a liaison nurse between the hospital and the community initiating, establishing and evaluating nursing services to patients in their homes.  He/she functions as an active member of the Home Health team.  The professional nursing services provided are skills given in accordance with the physician’s orders.  Skilled nursing includes duties as related to the patient’s care at home.

Home Health Manager

Qualifications:
Education:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not necessary.
Experience: Broad based, “hands on” experience in the principles of program planning and the delivery of patient care.  3+ years of progressive management/supervisory experience in an acute healthcare facility or Critical Access Hospital.  Should be able to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills, clinical acumen, advanced knowledge of quality and process improvement and the ability to apply sound hospital financial and administrative principles. 
Experience: Licenses/Certifications:  Current RN license within the state of practice; must be eligible for Oregon RN licensure.  Current BLS within 30 days of hire.

Cook

Department: Dietary
Status: Casual/On-call, Part-Time, Full-Time

Job Summary:
Prepares, seasons and cooks meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, soups, desserts, etc. Apportions servings; performs related duties.

Qualifications:
Education: Ability to read, speak, write and follow oral and written directions. Course work may
include food preparation, sanitation and hygiene, methods of cooking, food purchasing,
estimating food requirements, management, storage of food and supplies.

Experience: At least two (2) years experience as a cook in hotel, hospital, school or restaurant.

Job Knowledge: Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities and be familiar with
seasonings required and cooking times involved. Must have firsthand knowledge of cooking characteristics of various cuts of meats and know names and contents of various types of dishes. Must be able to make simple estimates relative to quantities of food required.

Payment Processing Clerk (Full-time; some weekends required)


SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:   To post accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner.  To bill secondary insurances as needed.  Assist with working the insurance ageing.  Assist with customer service and phones as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent.  Previous experience in a medical facility is preferred.  Background in posting accounts receivable is helpful.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Post accounts receivable from insurances and other payers to patients accounts. Review posting for accuracy of input
Balance the posting to the actual deposit daily and run daily reports. Review insurance remittances for incorrect payments or adjustments       
Bill secondary insurances. Assist insurance billers with insurance ageing
Assist with customer service and phones
Assist with review of ER admissions for insurance eligibility

The Information Processing Clerk will be expected to uphold the mission statement and values of Coquille Valley Hospital.  He/she is expected and encouraged to continue to learn by cross training, seminars or any other appropriate means of continuing education.

Surgical Technician (Full-time, Casual On-call, all shifts)

Two years experience in general surgery, orthopedics and/or EENT.  Ability to handle varied case load; one-third endoscopy.  Understands sterilization techniques and utilizes such technique in all sterile procedures.  Ability to work well under pressure.  Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians and patients. Possesses the ability to schedule surgical/medical procedures and collect patient data.  Certified Surgical Technologist preferred but not required; RN, LPN or CNA accepted. Works under general supervision of Surgical Services Manager to assist in surgical operations under the direction of the surgeon and circulating nurses. Before an operation, surgical technologists help prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions. Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment, as well as adjust and check it to ensure it is working properly. Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites. Transport patients to the operating room, help position them on the operating table, and cover them with sterile surgical “drapes.” Observe patients’ vital signs, check charts, and assist the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves. During surgery, pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants. May hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.  Because of the demands for 24-hour operating room coverage, must be able to take call on a very flexible schedule.  Must have 20-25 minute response time when called in. High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of anatomy and surgical instrumentation. EOE

OR Registered Nurse (Casual On-call, all shifts)

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, an associate's degree in nursing (A.D.N.), or bachelor’s degree in nursing (B.S.N.).

Experience: 2 years staff RN experience required and experience as OR RN in surgical services a plus. Must have desire to work in OR/surgical environment.

Licenses/Certifications:  Current Oregon RN License or ability to obtain OR RN licensure, ACLS, TEAM.

Demonstrates skills and ability to learn operating room procedures, endoscopic procedures, and recovery room duties. Ability to work well in a small, confined department. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, physicians and patients. Because of the demands for 24-hour operating room coverage, must be able to take call on a very flexible schedule. Must have 20-25 minute response time when called in.

Certified Nursing Assistant II

Shift: Night
Status: Full-time, Part-time, Casual/ On call

Qualifications:
Education: Successfully completed a State established or other training program that meets the CNA II or equivalent requirements and certified as such by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

Experience: Knowledge of direct patient care practices to provide personal care and help with activities of daily living to patients in an acute care setting.  Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in detail and perform designated clerical assistant functions.  Must have communication and interpersonal skills in relating to public and peers.  Maintains professional appearance.  Must be willing to work weekends on a rotating basis.

Licenses/Certifications: Current license as a CNA II issued by the state of Oregon.  Must have current BLS within 30 days of hire.

Medical Technologist

Shift: Night
Status: Full-time, Part-time, Casual/ On call

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field. 5 years medical technology experience. ASCP registered Medical Technologist.

Job Description:
Receives or collects specimens and performs applicable tests to attain accurate results.
Maintain equipment and keeps records in order to control the quality of test results.
Maintains necessary reagents and test supplies to assure test results are produced in minimal amount of time.
Assists in the review and implementation of new test systems.
Participates in the introduction of new procedures and in the evaluation of new instruments.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
Performs specialized assays or procedures.
Ensures that attending physician or appropriate individuals obtain patient lab results.
Evaluates, troubleshoots problems and makes decisions related to specimen preparation and procedures for preparation.
Prepares, labels, and performs quality control inspections on laboratory reagents.
Participates in work-related conferences and education.
