Meet Dr. Edwards

Motivated by his desire to help others, Dr. Patrick Edwards’ motto is to “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” By spending time with each patient, he gains a broader perspective, in terms of a person’s well-being, medical history and lifestyle.

As a primary care doctor, Dr. Edwards specializes in family medicine, diagnosis and management of general medical problems, treatment of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, asthma and hypertension, as well as pediatric, adult and geriatric care.

Thoughtful and easy-going, Dr. Edwards knew he wanted to be a physician when he was just 9 years old. He pursued his dream with passion and has many years of experience caring for individuals and families.

Dr. Edwards attended medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed his residency at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center at Lubbock. He has an undergraduate and graduate degree from Texas Tech University. He was a primary care provider in Texas for 31 years, before moving to Oregon. In search of a new place to live and work, Dr. Edwards discovered Coquille and found it to be a perfect fit. He prefers the scenery and climate of the Pacific Northwest and enjoys the people he has met since moving here.

In his free time, Dr. Edwards enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and photography. “This has to be the most photogenic place that I’ve ever been,” he says. “And, it’s everywhere—everything is beautiful. The rain is great, when we have rain; I love the rain—there is not enough rain in Texas.”
