Meet Dr. Ravindran

Kind and caring, Dr. Adharsh Ravindran is known by his friends and family as the one who puts others first. If a friend needs help moving? Dr. Ravindran shows up ready to do some heavy lifting. If a family member needs to vent? He is there to listen, even if it’s at 4 a.m. Dr. Ravindran puts his patients first, too.

Diagnosing, treating and seeing patients get better brings him great joy. But medicine is not about chasing a disease or writing prescriptions to “fix” patients, he says. “It is about actively listening to my patients, assessing their mental and physical well-being, appropriately correlating it to the blood tests and imaging, as necessary, then providing any help or guidance. I believe that practicing medicine is about caring for the person more than treating a disease.”

Happy to learn his patients’ life stories, Dr. Ravindran also wants patients to be comfortable sharing their health concerns. “I want them to feel heard and to walk out the door with answers, not questions. It’s an honor that my patients put their trust in me.”

Dr. Ravindran provides primary care for adults and specializes in internal medicine with an interest in geriatric medicine. He attended Thanjavur Medical College in India and completed his residency in the United States at State University of New York at Buffalo.

During his residency, he was a member of the wellness committee, helping to organize multiple wellness programs in support of his colleagues’ physical and mental well-being, and was awarded the Rakesh Bidani, MD, Memorial Award. The award recognized his selfless commitment to teaching, his dedication to his patients and his support of colleagues. He also helped the committee organize community efforts, like a winter coat donation drive and vaccination events.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Ravindran enjoys downtime with his wife, exploring the outdoors, hiking or snowboarding, and spending time with their dog. He also enjoys reading, travel photography and video games. And, he admits, he is a huge soccer fanatic. “I’m a huge fan of Barcelona and Chelsea soccer clubs!”
